Akcja, która obecnie jest już tradycją wpisaną w każdy koncert Florence + the Machine w Polsce. Więcej znajdziecie here.
Powstał kilkumetrowy baner, który był przymocowany do barierek podczas koncertu, a zadaniem tłumu było uniesienie karteczek z własną odpowiedzią na zadane pytanie przy piosence What The Water Gave Me. Akcja wywołała wruszenie Florence, która powiedziała legendarne: “Dziękuję Poland, kochamy Was!”.
Koncert Florence + the Machine w Berlinie. Florence z zespołem zauważyli przygotowaną przez nas polską flagę z napisem “WHY NOT IN POLAND?”.
Jeśli chcesz nam w tym pomóc, dołącz do nas i stań się częścią polskiej armii Florence and the Machine!
We have a channel on the portalYouTube, Twitter, stronę na Facebook, bloga na stronie Tumblr andInstagram. Współpracujemy z dwoma portalami muzycznymi, mamy dobre kontakty z największymi, oficjalnymi fan clubami, a naszym celem jest promocja zespołu w Polsce.
We are the greatest Polish Florence and The Machine Fan Club. It was established to unite the band’s most dedicated lovers from all over the country with the intention to show the entire world how numerous and faithful the FATM fan base is here in Poland. Throughout the first year of our activity we gathered over 3000 of the band’s supporters (now that number is up to 6000!), while our event “Florence to Poland”, intended to bring the band to our country, was joined by 8000 people! We’ve already managed to carry out multiple successful actions and happenings!
When we first came here…
The first and the greatest initiative was a short film, a birthday gift for Florence Welch, showing fans from all over the world singing “Dog Days Are Over”. The action was acknowledged by Florence herself, who thanked us publically on her Twitter blog!
A few months later we commemorated the anniversary of the release of the second Florence and The Machine record “Ceremonials”. We did it by reproducing the album’s cover in the form of a poster and a short video with over one hundred photos of the band’s fans from all over the world (more details here). The video was recognized and commented by the band’s harpist, Tom, while the poster was given to Florence by one of our site’s moderators at the concert in Aberdeen. At the same concert, Florence received a book from us entitled “Feathers”, which contained letters and artwork of their Polish supporters.
And when we come for you…
However, our most important action was a trip of three of our site’s administrators to Florence and The Machine’s concert in Berlin. The girls took Polish flags with them (the biggest one with a “WHY NOT IN POLAND?” written on it), which were noticed by the whole band and caused a comment by Florence with a promise of their coming to Poland! Also, it is worth mentioning that a couple of days after the Berlin concert, one of us met Chris, the band’s drummer, who said that he remembered and congratulated us on the event we organised. Even Florence herself remembered about us too (which she told us on 10th August during the Krakow concert)!
On the 16th January the official Florence and The Machine’s Facebook site shared a work of one of our administrators, which was a huge accomplishment for us!
After Florence and The Machine’s only concert announcement, which was to take place at Coke Live Music Festival in Krakow, we put a huge effort into making this day really special. The first initiative was the Spectrum 2013 video. It was created to express our gratitude for the band’s coming to Poland.
The task was not easy as everyone who wanted to take part in the event had to dress up as a member of the Florence and The Machine band. The video was brought to Florence alongside an album which was made especially for the concert. The album contained letters and artwork of Polish supporters. Also, it is worth mentioning that it was made in Florence, Italy itself!
The next step was to organise a poster competition which would promote Florence and The Machine’s concert on Coke Live Music Festival. It was worth the effort as the best works had a chance of being hung up backstage! Moreover, two winners won tickets to the festival. You can read about the details of the action here. We organised two happenings for the concert itself. One of them was based on the idea of fans showing up at the concert dressed in coronets of flowers and glitter. Let’s just say that even those who didn’t bring glitter with themselves, left the concert covered in it, including the band’s members themselves! The results of the action can be seen in our photo gallery. Another idea was connected with a “WHAT FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE GAVE ME” banner, which was attached to railings at the concert. The crowd’s task was to raise sheets of paper with their own answer to the question written on them during “What the Water Gave Me”. Both happenings were acknowledged and warmly commented by Florence during the concert, with the second action almost bringing tears to the eyes of the singer!
It is safe to say: there was whole lotta’ stuff happening back there! You can read the full coverage of the event at our site.
Undoubtedly, the greatest and most intense experience of our lives and in the history of our fan club was a backstage meeting with the band just before the concert in Krakow. It was a fulfilment of all our dreams and the most wonderful reward for all the hard work we had to do to get to this point. During the meeting, Florence and The Machine received the mentioned album, which was a token of love and dedication of fans from all over the country. We’re sure that this event and many other acts of sacrifice, which we had demonstrated by our past happenings, have lead us to the point where the band will long remember the stay in Poland and will long to come back here again as soon and as often as possible. We‘re proud to say that our aim has been accomplished! You can read the coverage of the backstage meeting on our site.
And when we come back…
Strengthened by the experience, we’ve gotten down to work and won’t stop proving to Florence that WE are the greatest fans in the world! If you want to help us, come join us and become a part of the Polish Florence and The Machine Army!
We have a YouTube channel, Twitter, a Facebook site, a Tumblr blog and Instagram. Moreover, we cooperate with two music portals and have a good contact with the greatest, official Florence and the Machine Fan Club. Our aim is to promote Florence and The Machine in Poland. Also, we organise multiple competitions, in which you can win many interesting prizes: extended editions of the albums, T-shirts and even official CD singles. Thanks to social media and our dedication, we manage to stay in touch with some of the band’s members.
