Tour poster Ceremonials
Ceremonials tour started on 13th of October 2011 and finished on 12th of December 2012 (it was extended in 2013 during the band’s break – they added 2 shows in Europe, one in Asia and one in South America). Florence + the Machine gave 126 concerts, including:
Ceremonials’ era stage design created a remarkable atmosphere of a slightly sinister and magical celebration. Each concert began with an appearance of Florence’s slim body’s shadow cast against the backdrop of golden stained glass-windows. The glass-work was designed exclusively for the tour, creating a perfect, sublime mood and giving a powerful impression of being a part of something truly special. Everything was veiled with the sounds of the intro to “Only If For A Night”, the song being an inherent introduction to the strange ceremony. Unique, floaty dresses made by world’s finest designers only complemented the perfection and professionalism of the show, blending in a harmonious way with a crystal-shaped microphone. Still, Florence wouldn’t stop walking barefoot on the stage; however, over the time she grew in charm and artistic perfection. Each show was accompanied with a three-piece choir and a piano, played by Rusty Bradshaw.
“You had an impression of going through a transformation of some sort, I mean, I was carried from the Lungs era to the Ceremonials era, which was like going from pre-Raphaelic decorations on the scene, all this silk and flowers, and flags and lights to something a little bit more spectacular and a little bit more graceful – something reminding Art Deco artists like Erte or Klimt.”
