Lungs Tour was the first official tour of Florence + the Machine. It started on 1st February 2008 and finished on 6th July 2011. Florence + the Machine played 257 gigs, including:
From 29th of January, the tour was the part of the NME Awards Tour 2009, and from 2nd of May 2010 to 22nd of June 2010, the European leg of the tour was called “Cosmic Love Tour”.
Lungs era concerts can be associated with a distinctive stage design: omnipresent flowers, coronets and feathers, hand-made birds locked in golden cages. A unique golden microphone entwined with a floral composition and a small drum played by Florence on certain songs. The band played against the backdrop of a huge vintage – style curtain, decorated with silk, leaves and a multitude of colourful feathers, with the band’s name written on it. Every concert was a loose, carefree show, with Florence, her hair flame-red and her eyelids covered in black paint, jumping around in randomly picked second-hand dresses, which had usually been bought on the same day.
