08.10.2008 – My summer…

i hope you all had a summer of love,

i certainly did, well massive love followed by the fear, but it was worth it.

I started the summer at glastonbury festival, where i first christened the clownsuit.

then all the festivals sort of blur into one explosion of fields and fireworks, dancing on stage with chuck berry at one and grace jones at another, driving to the beach in a ferrari and throwing myself off a cliff, stealing the sex pistols wine, SO. MUCH. FUN. dancing to Kool keith on top of cars, becoming a lampshade for four hours locked in a campervan with several lords and ladies, and singing “you got the love” to a rain soaked crowd at bestival dressed as a genie seamonster.

Ahem, well it was all quite exciting anyway.

But back on dry land the love continued.

me and my friends went to a wood and filled it with fake flowers, dead animals, bunting all kinds of nice things, and shot the cover for the next single, It looks like a woodland clown disco fallover party thing, if you get my drift.

i recorded the B side yesterday, so it should be ready soon, pip pip…x

I did a maida vale session with Steve Lamacq, which was great, but the best thing about it was that i bumped into Katy Perry coming out of the loo, and i got so excited i fell over.

And she came and watched the session.

THE FUTURE IS COMING. Sooner than you think, and my first headline tour starts. F**K.

the big pink and the XX are supporting.

I went fishing with the Big Pink once, so thats good.

i have never been fishing with the XX, but maybe we can arrange it on tour.
